favorite thing about working at CUA:
Meeting
so many wonderful students, dedicated faculty and caring
staff members. Each person I meet has his/her unique
life story. Hearing parts of it make me feel connected
to the campus community.
When
in DC you must:
See
the Korean War Veterans Memorial near the Lincoln Memorial
on the National Mall. This memorial dedicated on July
27, 1995 consists of 19 statues that are approximately
7'3" tall in heroic scale and consist of 14 Army, 3
Marines, 1 Navy and 1 Air Force.

The

When
in DC you must:
Take
the Monuments at Night Tour. DC is a totally different
city at night; all the landmarks look different with
their dramatic lighting. The World War II Memorial is
my favorite.

Dubliner on Capitol Hill, excellent corn beef and cabbage.

Visit the National Zoo, especially since it is free
and there is a great variety of animals to check out,

Hit up at least one of the 19 museums down at the Smithsonian.

diversity of programs and the opportunity to interact
with students and scholars from all
over the globe.
When
in DC you must:
Take
a walk down Embassy Row and check out all the amazing
architecture. Visit the National Cathedral over on Wisconsin
Ave as well if you get the chance. And the vegetarian
plate at Zorba's Greek Cafe near DuPont Circle is life-changingly
delicious.

When in DC you must:
Go for a walk on the C&O Canal. It's actually 185 miles
long and runs from Washington, D.C. to Cumberland, Maryland!

The campus community is such an inviting atmosphere,
in that being here becomes a home a way from home. Also,
it's great to be back on campus of my alma mater!

in DC you must:
Free jazz in the sculpture garden downtown in the summer
and other free concerts around town during the year
... you can't beat it!

Check out all the neighborhoods, like DuPont Circle,

restaurants, shopping, and nightlife.

always something to do and most of the museums are free.
The city is overflowing with opportunities for eager
