Financial Aid
The Catholic University of America offers several forms of financial assistance to qualifying students. Our focus is on helping as many eligible students as possible achieve their goal of obtaining a high quality academic and values-based education. Eight out of every 10 full-time students at Catholic University receive some level of financial aid, based on both need and academic potential.

Academic Scholarships
Archdiocesan Scholarships:
These full-tuition, four-year scholarships are CUA's most prestigious awards and 5 are awarded each year. Students must have a minimum 3.8 GPA (4.0 scale), a minimum SAT of 1450 (Math and Critical Reading) or an ACT of 32 or higher, and rank in the top 10% of their high school class to be considered.
University Academic Scholarships:
These CUA scholarships are awarded to students who have a proven academic profile as determined by their GPA and SAT (or ACT) scores, as well as a strong personal profile, shown through leadership experience and extracurricular activities.

Need-Based Grants
Federal, state and Catholic University-funded grant programs are awarded based on demonstrated financial need. Grants are often awarded as a part of a package of aid. Students must submit the FAFSA to be considered.

Alumni Grant
CUA Alumni may nominate entering freshmen or transfer students for a $1,000 Alumni award renewable for up to four years. Completed Alumni Grant Recommendation Forms must be submitted with the Undergraduate Application for Admission by:
Freshman:
Early Action -- November 15
Regular Decision -- February 15
Transfer: Must be submitted with Undergraduate Application

Parish Scholarship
Entering freshmen or transfer students who are parishioners of Catholic churches throughout the United States may be nominated by their parish pastor for a $3,000 Parish scholarship, renewable for up to four years. Completed Parish Scholarship Application should be submitted with the Undergraduate Application for Admission by:
Freshman:
Early Action -- November 15
Regular Decision -- February 15
Transfer: Must be submitted with Undergraduate Application -
Family Grant
If two or more dependent children of the same family are concurrently registered as full-time students, pursuing their first undergraduate degree, the older sibling(s) is eligible for a Family Grant of $2,000 per year. The Family Grant is only offered in the fall and spring semester, no summer awards are available.
